The belief in ecstasy: Anais Nin

” I am an excitable person who only understands life lyrically, musically, in whom feelings are much stronger as reason. I am so thirsty for the marvelous that only the marvelous has power over me. Anything I can not transform into something marvelous, I let go. Reality doesn’t impress me. I only believe in intoxication, in ecstasy, and when ordinary life shackles me, I escape, one way or another. No more walls.” Anais Nin

I absolutely love this quote… it rings ever so true. Miss Anais Nin wrote many timeless things, and I am always fascinated with her writing, but I was reminded of this one in particular yesterday, as the night begun to fall. Sometimes we forget that are intoxication with the ecstatic and the marvelous is not such a rare thing after all…. and that we always have a choice to keep walls down and to keep flying.
